Wasa Open Fifth match day, Eero Vasa to the singles semifinals

Today, only one quarterfinal match was played at Wasa Sportpark, in which Canada’s Alvin Tudorica beat Partrik Kaukovalta 6-1, 6-4, the other matches had to be moved to the indoor courts at Vaasa Tennis Center due to rain.

Eero Vasa cleared his way to the semi-finals by defeating France’s Robin Catry 7-6, 6-3. In the semi-final, Vasa will face Alvin Tudorica. Guillaume Dalmasso from France and Christopher Bulus from Nigeria will meet in the second semi-final.

In the final of the doubles, Finnish color will be seen, when Patrik Kaukovalta together with Poland’s Szymon Kielan beat Eero and Iiro Vasa 6-2, 6-1. Their opponent in the final will be the Swedish pair Erik Grevelius/Adam Heinonen, who defeated the Swedish-Australian pair Henrik Bladelius/Ethan Cook 6-4, 6-3.

Tomorrow, Saturday 10.8. the doubles final will be played starting at 10:00. The doubles semi-final Dalmasso – Bulus starts at 11:00 and the second semi-final Vasa – Tudorica starts after the doubles final.

In case of rain, the matches will be moved to the Tennis Center according to the new schedule.
