The third match day of the Wasa Open was again spent in a sunny setting

The first round of the singles was played today. Half of the eight Finns who participated, four players, made it to the second round.

Iiro Vasa beat Sweden’s Fred Simonsson 6-7, 6-3, 6-4

Eero Vasa beat Jeri Lassila, who got a wild card to the main series after winning the Finnish Championship of the general categories a month ago. The match ended with Vasa winning 6-3, 6-4

Vesa Ahti beat Serbia’s Boris Butulija 7-6, 1-6, 6-1

As the last Finn, Patrik Kaukovalta made his way to the second round by defeating Sweden’s Henrik Bladelius with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-4

On Thursday, the matches continue with the second round of the singles and the quarterfinals of the doubles.
