On Sunday 11th June played Singles’ final at Vaasa Sportpark in sunny weather and about one hundred spectators watching. Final’s winner was Karl Friberg from Sweden. Numbers were 6-0, 6-4.
At first set Kaukovalta was all the time two steps behind Friberg. When Friberg was leading second set 2-0, Kaukovalta got his first game and begun to fight much better. Kaukovalta had two break points, when Friberg was serving and set was 4-3, but Kaukovalta did not succeed. So Friberg took second set 6-4 and renewed his last year’s Wasa Open victory. Anyway Kaukovalta had a great tournament taking his first ATP points this year.
